KNOWN LAWYER MAHMUT MAGOMADOV IS ABDUCTED IN GROZNY
On January 20, 2005 in day when all Moslem world celebrated one of the most important holidays Day of Sacrifice (Aid-Adha) in Staropromyslovsky area of Grozny at 18.30 o’clock by employees of Kadyrov’s Security Service known lawyer in the Chechen Republic and its outside Magomadov Mahmut Dzhaparovich, 1954 year of birth, living in the 15-th mol state farm is abducted.
As it became known from words of relatives and the wife who has informed about all over the phone Mahmut Magomadov after fulfillment of a ceremony of sacrifice with the family by own car “ VAZ-2107” (number plate 702; 07 region) has gone to the friend Amirov Abubakar (whose pregnant wife in 2000 was raped and killed by the Russian militaries) living in the five- storey house located near a factory “ Elektropribor”.
According to the wife they noticed during all way following for them a car “VAZ-2110” of steel-blue color. Having approached to a bus stop and having left the wife with six-monthly son Arbalo in the car Mahmut with the four years old daughter Iman has gone up to the second floor to Abubakar to give him a share of meat of a sacrificial animal.
At this moment to the house several cars have unexpectedly approached: “NIVA”, “VAZ-2110” (number plate 863) of steel-blue color, and “VAZ-2107” (number plate 008; 95 region) of white color, “GAZ-31029” of white color and “VAZ-21099” of cherry blossom from which unknown armed with automatic and the other weapon without masks in camouflage uniform have rushed out. As eyewitnesses told the armed people had spoken in Chechen language and on their suppositions had been employees of so-called Kadyrov’s Security Service.
The wife of Magomadov, Albika Shabazova, 1972 year of birth having worried has decided to leave from the car and directed to the house. At this moment one of the employees “Kadyrov’s Security Service” asked her: “ Where is the owner of the car? Albika answered that her husband has gone up to give sacrificial animal’s meat. To all inquiries of Albika about the happening the employee of “Kadyrov’s Security Service” answered that they solved their business!
Then armed people in a flash have surrounded the house and in some minutes have taken away Magomadov from the house. The employees of “Kadyrov’s Security Service” have dragged on the ground juvenile shoeless daughter of Mahmut, who crying has caught on the father. When armed people were directed to machines Albika with the 6- monthly son on hands trying to interfere, has rushed to abductors, but she has been roughly rejected aside, having told Magomadov to calm the wife. Magomadov, has demanded not to touch the woman. He only had time to throw out keys from the car.
Then employees of “Kadyrov’s Security Service” violently having set him in “GAZ-31029”, have taken him away towards center of Grozny. Eyewitnesses of incident, and also relatives Mahmut assume that employees of “ Kadyrov’s Security Service” committed abduction of Magomadov most likely now is in one of the prisons of “ Kadyrov’s Security Service”.
Magomadov Mahmut after graduation in 1981 year of Sverdlovsk legal institute, carrying out different official duties worked in law-enforcement structures of various cities of Russia. Since 1992 worked in territory of the Chechen Republic. In the period with 1994 on 1996, during first Chechen campaign Magomadov worked in Public Prosecutor’s office of temporary administration in the time of Hadzhiev and Zavgaev and then and in the time of Mashadov in Public Prosecutor’s office of the Chechen Republic.
Magomadov Mahmut being the expert representing in Northern Caucasus the International Helsinki Federation works as the lawyer in Regional Public Movement “ Chechen Committee for National Salvation” and also closely cooperates with such human rights organizations as “ For human rights” (L.Ponamorev), “ Center of international protection’ (K.Moskalenko). He is engaged directly in protection of rights and freedom of citizens of the Chechen Republic.
The last year Magomadov Mahmut was the participant of the seminar which has been carried out by the International Helsinki Federation in Committee of the United Nations in Geneva which purpose consist in perfection of knowledge in the area of jurisprudence and human rights activity. In December 2004 participated in the All-Russia civil forum. In October of the last year was the participant of hearings in the European court in Strasbourg of the first 6 Chechen cases submitted by Human Rights Center “Memorial”.
Now Magomed being on pension continued to protect rights and freedom of citizens of the Chechen Republic moreover he actively was engaged in abductions of peace inhabitants of the Chechen Republic.
In what or operations Magomadov Mahmut of participation did not accept. Magomadov Mahmut is the exemplary family man father of 4 children.
The relatives of Magomadov Mahmut and employees of Regional Public Movement “ Chechen Committee for National Salvation” are disturbed with proceeding practice of mass disappearance of people in the republic and concerned to possible threat of his life in this connection ask to Piter Shider, Alvaro Hil Robles both all Russian and international human rights organizations for the urgent emergency help to search and release Magomadov Mahmut Dzhaparovich.
