Marsho receives tumultuous ovation in Brno

(Prague Watchdog) – The Chechen children dance group Marsho received a tumultuous ovation from the audience of the theatre Husa na Provázku in Brno during their first big public performance in the Czech Republic on Saturday.

“The theatre was completely sold out and the audience was absolutely amazed by the children’s show,” said Tomáš Janeba of the Czech humanitarian organization People in Need Foundation, whose staff from the North Caucasus mission provided the organizer of Marsho’s tour, the Berkat association, with practical information about the North Caucasian region.

Several Czech ensembles and groups performed before Marsho, so the whole concert lasted several hours. “Both the children and the audience showed no signs of tiredness and the applause in the end was the greatest award for everybody,” Berkat’s coordinator Jana Hradilková told Prague Watchdog.

Marsho’s concert schedule further includes public performances in the Velké kino cinema in Zlín on Monday and in the Divadlo loutek theatre in Ostrava on Wednesday. Thursday’s final performance in Palác Akropolis in Prague is totally sold out. According to some backstage information, it is now being considered whether to organize an extra performance in Prague on Friday or let the children have a day off, as promised.
