Young boy killed during police operation in Ingush village of ChemulgaBy Beybulat Polonkoyev
INGUSHETIA – A 6-year-old boy, Rakhim Amriyev, was killed this morning in the village of Chemulga in Ingushetia’s Sunzhensky district. The incident occurred during a special operation by Russian security forces at the home of the boy’s father, Prague Watchdog’s correspondent, who attended the scene, has learned.
Aslanbek (on official documents, Ramzan) Amriyev, who is the boy’s father, and Ingushetian law enforcement officials said that at 6.30 a.m. the house was surrounded by officers of the “Anti-terror” centre based in the city of Magas. They smashed in the door and made all the members of Aslanbek’s family – his wife Raisa and their children, Luiza (17), Orshtkho (15), Lalisa (11) and Rakhim (6) – lie down on the floor of the entrance hall.
Then they opened fire on the house’s interior walls. When the shooting had end, it became clear that 6-year-old Rakhim had been shot in the head.
After the atrocity, all the members of the family were made to go outside in their bare feet to where their neighbours, including children of school and pre-school age, were gathered. They were all kept standing outside in this condition for around 40 minutes.
Then heavy fire from armoured personnel carriers was opened on the Amriyevs’ adobe brick house, as a result of which it suffered serious damage. No one from the local law enforcement agencies was allowed to go to the scene of the events until the military prosecutor arrived.
Chemulga’s deputy administrative head Aslan Amriyev said that the soldiers who took part in the special operation ordered him to say that they had come under fire from inside the house, and threatened him with a firing squad if he refused. To this, the official replied: "Go on, shoot me - some day you’ll be shot too!", and categorically refused to lie.
